New York, New York!!

Well, its time to board the Amtrak train for Penn Station Manhattan. A three hour journey to what people describe as the beating heart of the world - what will I find, will I like it or will it be too frantic for me? Tomorrow I will find out. The one thing I have made clear in my mind is that next week I don't want to see New York as a tourist. We are staying in an apartment as opposed to a hotel so I can feel like a New Yorker albeit for 7 days.

Rima & I both know what we each wish to accomplish in our 7 days, a lot of it the same but there are some differences. I for one want to spend an hour each morning in a different part of central park, to capture this magnificent space and absorb the vibration this oasis offers the city which never sleeps. I am looking forward to getting lost in the New York Public Library for hours, spending a whole day walking around Brooklyn and trying to capture the perfect shot of the Brooklyn Bridge for Bill to hang in our loungeroom. I want to see and feel the differences of each individual area, SoHo, Greenwich village and definitely get to some flea markets. After 2 weeks of moving our cases (and gaining another) I will be pleased to stay in one place until it's time to fly home.

So... I better get an early night, something that has avoided me since I left home, in order
to conserve some energy for the week ahead...something tells me I am going to need a lot of it!! Wish me luck as I head towards the biggest adventure of my life...
